Public proxy sources and data policy

We discover endpoints from published public datasets and run our own connectivity checks before listing them. A source’s status or latency is not reused as a PublicVPNList measurement. Each published row keeps its discovery sources.

Active discovery sources

All valid public IPv4 HTTP, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 candidates from these feeds enter the local checker queues. Duplicate protocol/IP/port combinations are merged. An imported candidate is not a published working proxy.

Where checks run

Checks run on two local computers, separately from the web host. Work is divided by endpoint identity. A row identifies its assigned measuring node; it is not a claim that both nodes independently verified that endpoint.

Other sources reviewed

Proxifly offers protocol and country datasets under a GPL-3.0 repository license. TheSpeedX publishes downloadable proxy lists with educational-use notes. Neither is currently imported here; redistribution terms and incremental coverage need further review. We do not treat a publicly readable repository as a blanket privacy or reuse guarantee.

Attribution and redistribution

ProxyScrape’s README distinguishes MIT-licensed code from public endpoint data supplied as-is. monosans publishes its repository under MIT. The source notices linked above are retained without modification. Our exports identify contributing sources; retain those notices and attribution when redistributing source-derived data. No ownership of the listed endpoints is implied.

The source list is factual attribution, not an endorsement or paid placement. Endpoint IP and port are public connection metadata. Credentials are excluded from this import pipeline. We do not fetch login-protected lists, bypass CAPTCHAs or accept arbitrary URLs from visitors.

Failure and removal policy

A source fetch failure does not mark every previously known endpoint healthy or dead. Local checks remain the authority for publication, with a one-hour expiry. A failed recheck removes the endpoint from the next node snapshot. If you operate an endpoint and want it removed, contact us through Contacts with the public IP, port and protocol. Read the complete check methodology and site privacy policy.
