VPN protocol selector

Choose one to three technically compatible options. The result distinguishes full-device VPNs from proxy tunnels and links to actual guides, validators and live catalogs without unsupported speed or privacy claims.

Connection requirements

Select the constraints that apply to your device and network.

What the selector does not claim

A protocol does not determine operator trust, logging policy or legal safety. Performance depends on implementation, route, congestion and server capacity. A proxy client may offer a TUN mode that covers the device, but the underlying VLESS, Trojan or Hysteria2 protocol is still distinct from a native full-device VPN such as WireGuard or OpenVPN.

Frequently asked questions

Which protocol is always fastest?
None. Route, congestion, client implementation and server capacity can outweigh protocol overhead.
Why does UDP availability matter?
WireGuard, Hysteria2 and TUIC depend on UDP. OpenVPN and TLS-based proxy transports can provide TCP fallbacks on restrictive networks.
Is REALITY a separate VPN protocol?
No. REALITY is a security and camouflage layer used with compatible proxy protocols such as VLESS.
