Accuracy and privacy

Country, city, ASN and provider fields are registry and geolocation estimates, not proof of physical location or operator identity. Reverse DNS is controlled by the address owner and can be absent or misleading. Public lookups use a first-party endpoint with a short technical cache; the full IP is not sent to GA4.

Can IP geolocation identify an exact address?
No. IP location is approximate and can point to a provider gateway, data center or registration address.
What does reserved or non-public mean?
The address belongs to a loopback, private, link-local, documentation, benchmark or another range that should not be reached as a public Internet target.
What does a catalog match prove?
Only that the address appears as a host or verified exit IP in the current public protocol snapshot. It does not prove ownership or trust.
