PublicVPNList FAQ
PublicVPNList catalogs third-party public endpoints; it is not the VPN operator. Technical checks do not establish privacy, identity, logging policy or operator trust.
What does currently live mean?
A currently live record passed the catalog visibility checks in the published snapshot. Public endpoints can still change after publication.
Are source-reported and PublicVPNList measurements the same?
No. Source-reported speed and ping remain separate from tunnel RTT and throughput measured by PublicVPNList. Missing measurements are shown as unknown.
Which bulk formats are public?
The same versioned metadata snapshot is available as JSON, CSV, TXT and XML on the Exports page, with a manifest and SHA-256 checksums.
Are raw OpenVPN profiles included in bulk exports?
No. Bulk files contain metadata. Eligible individual configurations use a short-lived checked download flow while source-by-source redistribution rights remain under review.
How should an API client refresh data?
Cache the response ETag, send If-None-Match, accept 304 responses, and compare dataset_version, generated_at and expires_at.
Why is a server page noindex?
Existing but unstable, stale or insufficiently evidenced servers remain accessible with noindex,follow and are excluded from the stable-server sitemap.
